STEM Immersion through the Lens of Medical Science
Medical Ascension provides an immersive learning experience through simulated experiences, hands-on activities, and interactive demonstrations. Medical Ascension Youth gain real-world clinical skills using professional instruments as they practice taking vitals, conducting fundoscopic exams, performing neurological exams, and more. As Medical Ascension Youth solve medical cases alongside healthcare professionals, Medical Ascension boosts their STEM confidence, critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills. Medical Ascension Youth are activated as Medical Ascension Lead Scholars who directly help to improve the health of their communities alongside their Medical Ascension Community Health Station Supervisors. With these place-based Medical Ascension Community Health Stations, Medical Ascension Lead Scholars gain an in-depth understanding of public health, help improve individual health outcomes, and collectively impact health equity within their communities.
